The Corridor

 

The discovery of water at the beginning of the twenty-first century, hundreds of miles beneath the earth’s surface, prompts an exodus of the world’s elite into subterranean communities.

 

A hundred years later, their descendants stubbornly persist, living and dying in a highly stratified society whose ossified mores ape the principles of their forebears.

 

Meanwhile, the sweltering earth swarms with the survivors of the Sixth Extinction, vast insect hordes that comb the planet in search of food.
